Berbers of Ourika Valley
Sarah Begum travels deep in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco to live with the Berber tribe of Ourika Valley, immersing in their unique culture. Sarah is adopted as the daughter of an elderly Berber woman by the name of Khadija and their relationship is only a fragment of what these generous mountain dwellers signify; simplicity. Sarah speaks with the people to find out about their way of life, their rituals, traditions, preparations for Eid ul Adha and even meets the oldest man in the village who chants a prayer for her under an olive tree. There, Sarah learns how western influence has affected life in the once remote mountains and discovers secrets of their ancient past, walking amongst tombs and chambers!
